THE GO Fund has once again put out the challenge to the legal profession to see who can raise the most money for ovarian cancer research.
Last year’s winner, Sydney and Illawarra-based firm Kells The Lawyers, is taking part in the campaign for the fourth year running, and is again hosting a “Christmas in July Ladies Luncheon”. Among the attendees at this year’s event, which is being held on July 23 at the Lagoon Seafood Restaurant in Illawarra, is GO Research Fund executive director, breast cancer survivor and actress Carmen Duncan.
To date, the firm has raised more than $50,000 for ovarian cancer research and the firm is this year hoping to hit the $100,000 mark.
Baker & McKenzie, another key supporter of the Karen Campaign and its winner in 2004 and 2006, has yet to release its plans for this year’s campaign. However it urges other firms to get on board and take up the challenge for this worthy cause.
