Minter Ellison's Perth managing partner John Poulsen has responded to criticism that the Perth office is actively recruiting new staff, even though the firm recently confirmed that 35 staff had been made redundant.

Speaking to Lawyers Weekly today, Poulsen confirmed that no cuts had been made in the Perth office, and that the office was still recruiting in some teams.

"There's been a whole lot of stuff in the legal press this week about Minters making people redundant and then advertising places in the Perth office. We haven't made people redundant [in the Perth office] so we're still strategically recruiting - I'd love to clear up that mix-up," he said.
