After a split from its Melbourne office, Dibbs Abbott Stillman has announced its federation of offices will soon be known as DibbsBarker.
Alan McArthur, who has spent 20 years with Dibbs Abbott Stillman, will be managing partner of DibbsBarker
Dibbs Abbott Stillman originally emerged from a federation agreement between Dibbs Barker Gosling - which had offices in Sydney, Brisbane, Perth and Canberra - and Melbourne firm Abbott Stillman & Wilson.
In October 2008, Dibbs Abbott Stillman announced it would break up due to a divergence in "strategic aspirations" and "investment priorities". McArthur, who was managing partner of the Sydney office at the time, told Lawyers Weekly that the priorities of the Sydney and Melbourne offices did not "overlap."
Earlier this year, Thomson Playford Cutlers announced that it would merge with the Melbourne office of Dibbs Abbott Stillman.
DibbsBarker said that from 1 March its email address and the URL of its website will change accordingly.
