I graduated from Monash University in 2006 with a Bachelor of Arts (Hons) and a Bachelor of Laws (Hons). My interest in family law stemmed from my study of sociology. I liked the idea of working with people and helping them deal with the difficulties of family separation.

In my final year of university I completed a seasonal clerkship at Lander & Rogers and knew that it was the firm that I wanted to work at because of its friendly and down-to-earth culture and atmosphere. I commenced articles in 2007. There were seven article clerks in my group and we rotated through four of the seven departments. I rotated to family law, workplace relations and safety, general insurance and property law. This was a great opportunity to experience a few areas of law before deciding on a final placement as well as a great way to get to know everyone in the firm.

I am now a first year in our family law department and am enjoying it immensely. I am working on some of my own files under supervision and have already had a lot of client contact as well as some court appearance work.
