Even the rich and famous are reluctant to cough up when it comes to paying the legal fees.
The law firm Lavely & Singer of Los Angeles says Jackson agreed in arbitration last year to pay them US$180,000 in three instalments.
However, Jackson failed to make the final payment before the 31 July deadline.
Another judge last month ordered Jackson, 48, to pay more than US$256,000 ($313,808) in legal fees to another firm that handled some side issues during his 2005 child molestation trial.
It’s little wonder the fallen Prince of Pop has trouble meeting his debts — he has reportedly been on the brink of bankruptcy in recent years having racked up US$270 million ($331 million) in bank loans to fund his extravagant lifestyle.
It certainly makes US$113,418 look like small change and Folklaw believes Jackson would do well to pay up given his lawyers have managed to keep him out of jail so far.
