Keypoint bolsters property law team
Keypoint Law has expanded its Melbourne-based property team with the appointment of the former legal head of United Petroleum.
The firm has welcomed Sangeeta Thaker as a consulting principal, effective immediately. Ms Thaker is an accredited specialist in property law and joins Keypoint with over 20 years of experience.
Prior to this, she was a special counsel at mid-tier law firm Maddocks.
Throughout her career, Ms Thaker has advised Australian and international developers, corporations, listed and unlisted property trusts and financiers on the full breadth of property transactions — including acquisitions, disposals, structuring issues, lease transactions and development advice in relation to retail, commercial, industrial and residential property, a statement from Keypoint noted.
Keypoint chief executive Warren Kalinko said Ms Thaker’s vast expertise would be of significant value to the firm.
“Sangeeta’s expertise and wide-ranging experience in property law will be of immense value to our firm and clients,” Mr Kalinko said.
“Sangeeta is a rigorous and highly experienced lawyer who brings strong commercial acumen and result-oriented thinking to the table.
“Our national team continues to grow with incredibly talented lawyers, and Sangeeta is simply another excellent testament to the firm’s quality-focused approach to growth. We look forward to welcoming Sangeeta to our Melbourne team.”
Ms Thaker said she was equally excited to be joining the firm.
“I am very excited to be joining Keypoint and to be part of the personalised service offering that Keypoint offers its clients,” she said.
