Keypoint reaches 60 consulting principals in Australia
Following the appointment of three new consulting principals, national mid-tier firm Keypoint Law has hit the milestone of 60 such senior lawyers across its Australian offices.
The three new consulting principals are David Baker, a building and construction specialist in Sydney who was formerly a partner of Makinson & d’Apice; Charles Hartley, a health, regulatory and insurance lawyer in Brisbane who was the general counsel for Metro North Hospital and Health Service in Queensland; and Kerry White, a family practitioner who was a partner at Armstrong Legal in Canberra.
“The expertise they bring to the firm in their respective practice areas will further strengthen the firm’s partner-level service offering to clients,” he said.
Mr Hartley said that he is “really excited to be joining and expanding my practice with such a friendly, fresh-thinking and forward looking firm”, while Mr Baker said that he is “really looking forward to working at Keypoint Law and collaborating with the consulting principals, and also being able to contribute to the success of the firm”.
Ms White noted that she is “pleased and excited to be joining an innovative firm structure and pool of talented senior lawyers as colleagues. The flexibility and support offered is key to being able to focus on and provide high quality services to clients.”
“I am confident that the ability to balance work and life commitments is more achievable with this firm’s model,” she added.
Keypoint, Mr Kalinko continued, has “reached an exciting stage” in its growth as a national mid-tier, having been a finalist in the Employer of Choice and NewLaw firm of the Year categories for the upcoming Australian Law Awards.
“I’m thrilled to be announcing our 60 senior lawyer milestone alongside the welcoming of Charles, David and Kerry,” he said.
“Our ongoing ability to attract partners who are pre-eminent in their field underscores the strength of our model and offering, and we are looking forward to the continued growth ahead of us.”
The growth of the Australian arm of Keypoint mirrors that of its sister-firm Keystone Law in the United Kingdom, which now has over 380 senior lawyers after 21 years of operation.
Elsewhere, the firm has elevated three of its “rising stars” to associate: Taylor Murphy, Phoebe Love and Eliza St Hill.
“These appointments are a testament to the talents and capabilities of Taylor, Phoebe and Eliza. Keypoint is so pleased to announce this important milestone in their careers, and to be able to support the growth and career progression of these highly competent younger lawyers,” said Mr Kalinko.
