THROUGHOUT THE month of October, DLA Phillips Fox is taking part in number of initiatives aimed at encouraging staff to use more sustainable forms of transport.

For a start, the firm is involved in a “Green Travel” campaign from 6to 31 October which is being co-ordinated across DLA Piper offices globally. As part of the campaign, the firm will be joining DLA Piper offices across Europe and the Middle East for “No Travel Week”. During the week running from 13 to 19 October, staff will be strongly encouraged to avoid all non-client travel. The firm will also be running programs to remind and educate staff about alternatives to travel, including video-conferencing, web-conferencing and teleconferencing.

In addition, the Melbourne office is taking part in a state government initiative called “TravelSmart” which will involve staff being surveyed about their commuting habits. The firm is hoping to be able to explore options it can offer staff for getting to work, encouraging greater use of more sustainable forms of transport.
