Global Access is a connected global offering providing insurer clients easy access to recognised insurance law specialists across the globe and was created in response to feedback from the insurance market.

Colin Biggers & Paisley is a foundation member of Global Access, alongside RPC in the UK and Asia, Hinshaw & Culbertson LLP in the US, Miller Thomson LLP in Canada, Kennedy Van Der Laan in the Netherlands and HMN & Partners in France. Collectively, the six Global Access firms have 44 offices and over 2,000 lawyers.

The platform is focused on the insurance sector and allows users to access smart insurance law solutions in a global way. The launch also complements Colin Biggers & Paisley’s longstanding membership of ADVOC, a leading global law firm network with 92 member firms in 73 countries.

Commenting on the launch of Global Access, Jonathan Newby, partner and Colin Biggers & Paisley representative for Global Access, said that he was extremely excited about the new platform and initiative.

“Global Access is an exciting initiative which pursues opportunities for global connectedness. The needs of our clients have been at the heart of the planning and development of Global Access, in particular how we can connect leading local market expertise to help those clients which operate in the insurance sector globally,” he said.

“Global Access has brought together established market leading firms in major jurisdictions to provide clients with the benefits of pre-eminent practices through seamless connection.

“Through Global Access, our clients will get access to the insight, resources and capability of each firm, as we work together on significant cross-jurisdictional issues and exposures. It is the ease of relationship between our firms that is the driving force to deliver best client service for insurers across the globe.”

Nick Crennan, managing partner of Colin Biggers & Paisley, said that Global Access will enhance the legal practice’s offering.

“Congratulations to our Insurance group, RPC and the other pre-eminent global insurance practices that have come together to form Global Access. Insurance is a core part of our offering. This strong alliance with other global firms aligned in culture and service offering will enhance this even further. Our many shared clients will no doubt benefit from our collective passion for the sector, as we explore new ways of working together for the benefits of our clients,” he said.
