A PAPER encouraging government lawyers to do pro bono work has been delivered by the peak national pro bono resource organisation.
Government lawyers and pro bono was recently launched by the pro bono envoy to the federal Attorney-General for England and Wales at a lunch hosted by Blake Dawson Waldron and attended by lawyers from both state and federal government agencies.
The paper suggests that Attorneys-General should consider developing policy to support and encourage their government lawyers to undertake more pro bono work. It also looks at overseas initiatives and possible projects and activities in Australia.
