AS FIRMS in New South Wales are said to be shying away from personal injuries, plaintiff law firm Maurice Blackburn Cashman (MBC) has further expanded its practice through a merger with Melbourne firm Gill Kane & Brophy.
The current merger is a result of a belief that the PI is what the firm does best, and that there are possibilities to make this area work well, said Brett Young. The merger gives the firm more strength in this area, as well as offering more diversification, he said.
“We both have a strong history of providing legal services to working people and their families. We are also both proud of providing affordable and professional service to unions, injured people, consumers and small businesses,” he said.
Gill Kane & Brophy provides conveyancing, personal injury, commercial, wills, probate and estate, superannuation and horse law services. “The merger will further strengthen our conveyancing and wills areas,” Brett Young said.
