LAW FIRM Clayton Utz has abandoned the offices it has inhabited in Brisbane for the past 20 years, taking up a new post in the city’s Eagle Street.
The move has been put off for half the decade, postponed by the shortage of new building in Brisbane. The premium Riparian Plaza development was the first to come on the market, Harley said. “We signed an agreement for lease around the end of 2001.”
The new offices comprise 6200 square metres, over five floors that are joined by an internal staircase. This simplifies matters for the daily running of the firm, said Harley. “Only four of our eight floors at 215 Adelaide Street were contiguous so we had people in lifts going up and down all day. In the Riparian, we have five floors all joined by an internal staircase.”
“We also have better cabling and technology arrangements, more functional floors, a better floor plan in terms of shape, offices with internal ceiling to floor glass windows, better lighting — not to mention great views.”
The actual move only took place just over a week ago, and partner and staff were given keys to their new offices at the beginning of last week.
