Two globals open new German offices
Clyde & Co has entered the German market this month, while K&L Gates has opened its third office in the country.

Global firm Clyde & Co announced the launch of an office in Düsseldorf last week, marking the firm’s first foray into Germany.
Simon Konsta, global head of insurance at Clyde & Co, described the German market as a “gap in our global network”.
“Germany is one of the world's most important economies and has an exceptionally strong insurance market supporting its core industries,” he said.
“Having an office in Düsseldorf, in Germany’s industrial heartland and the home of many domestic and international insurers, will enable us to better support our international clients, form deeper ties with our German clients and increase our share of outbound work from Germany.”
K&L Gates, meanwhile, opened an office in Munich, bringing its total number of German offices to three.
The firm’s Munich office will be headed by former King & Wood Mallesons partner Dr. Hilger von Livonius, with support from Dr. Philipp Riedl and Michael Harris.
K&L Gates’ other offices in Germany are in Berlin and Frankfurt.
