HWL Ebsworth has today (15 November) announced that PaulO'Donnell has joined the firm's energy & resources team as a partner in Sydney.

O'Donnell's practice focuses on energy regulation and market reform, the acquisition and development of energy related projects and the trading of electricity and gas.

Prior to joining HWL, he was the general counsel of Novatec Biosol, a German company that developed innovative linear Fresnel solar thermal power generating technology.

Before leaving Australia, O'Donnell was a partner at Clayton Utz for eight years.

He has acted for many of Australia's energy generation, transmission and retail companies and advised on power projects in various overseas countries including Spain, the US, the Middle East, Africa, South America, New Zealand, Philippines, Vietnam, Thailand, China and Indonesia.

HWL managing partner Juan Martinez said O'Donnell's extensive experience with renewable energy will ensure that HWL is at the forefront of industry developments in the future.
