Mills Oakley has appointed senior property partner Lachlan Paterson to its Sydney office as part of its national property practice.

A former HWL Ebsworth partner, Paterson has been involved in major property transactions in recent years, including the lease of 99 Harrington Street, The Rocks and the development of "The Cooperage" at Pyrmont, both of which involved lengthy negotiations with the Sydney Harbour Foreshore Authority.

Paterson said he was excited about working for a firm with a strong property presence and client base as his past experience has seen him representing clients in joint ventures, acquisitions, disposals, leasing and development.

Paterson holds a Bachelor of Arts and Master of Laws and has been a solicitor in the Supreme Court of New South Wales and Supreme Court of the ACT.
