Blake Dawson tax partner Teresa Dyson has been appointed by Federal Treasurer Wayne Swan to the Board of Taxation.

Dyson, who specialises in direct tax law in the resources, infrastructure and finance sectors, will join the non-statutory body which advises on the design, operation and implementation of Australia's taxation laws. The board provides recommendations on the overall functioning of the tax system and also responds to inquires and referrals by the treasurer, including matters involving tax reform and tax administration.

"I am very pleased to have such an opportunity to contribute in a unique way to the development of tax laws and practice and to be involved in the interface between business and the government and its agencies that the Board of Taxation provides," said Dyson.
