Blake Dawson Asia has appointed senior transactional lawyer Michael Sheng as a partner in the firm's Shanghai office.

Sheng joins Blakes after almost five years at Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer in Shanghai.

Born in Shanghai, Sheng emigrated to Australia where he completed his education and began his career as a lawyer. Graduating from the University of Melbourne and qualifying as an Australian lawyer, Sheng worked for several years in the corporate practice of Clayton Utz before returning to China.

His experience includes advising Chinese companies on offshore investments, cross-border transactions, China-related foreign investment and mergers and acquisitions across a range of industries including resources, manufacturing and real estate.
