Intellectual property firm FB Rice has today (6 December) announced the appointment of Jim Watson as chair of the firm, effective this month.

An experienced senior executive, Watson has worked with a range of organisations from start-up businesses to global corporations, both in Australia and overseas. As chairman, Watson will focus on mentoring and guiding the firm's leadership team.

"We are very much looking forward to working with Jim who brings a wealth of experience and ideas to the firm," said managing partner Brett Lunn.

In addition to Watson's appointment, FB Rice has also promoted attorney Patrick McManamny to the level of senior associate in the firm's Melbourne biotechnology team, effective 1 January 2011.
