Minter Ellison has appointed partner Katrina Groshinski and senior associate Naveena Rajaretnam to the firm's competition and regulatory group in Sydney.
She advises clients on all aspects of the operation of regulatory frameworks, including the design and implementation of new regulatory frameworks, the optimal application of existing regimes and legislative reform.
Rajaretnam has deep energy sector experience and has been involved in many of the key energy regulatory reforms to the national gas and electricity markets over the last few years, having advised regulators, governments and businesses on both the design and implementation aspects of these reforms.
Her experience encompasses all the regulatory, operational and commercial aspects of the energy supply chain from generation to retail - also in relation to renewable energy. She has strong experience advising on the regulatory frameworks that underpin the national and state-based gas and electricity markets, particularly in relation to access and economic regulation of energy network businesses.
