Maddocks has strengthened its intellectual property expertise, having lured Sean Field from Mallesons Stephen Jaques.

Field, who has more than 10 years experience in the IP and technology field, joins the firm as a senior associate in the Melbourne office.

His past experience also includes working in various roles for the Department of Defence and the Department of Primary Industries and Energy in Canberra. He has also completed secondments to Tabcorp, SecureNet (now Cybertrust) and Airservices Australia.

He is experienced in drafting and negotiating services, licensing, commercialisation, joint venture and non-disclosure agreements, as well as advising clients on a board range of IP-related issues.
