BDO appoints new migration services leader
A global audit and accounting organisation has appointed a principal immigration lawyer to serve as the leader of its migration services.
Rebecca Thomson (pictured) has been named as the new leader of BDO’s migration services division.
As a principal immigration lawyer, the global organisation believes that she is poised to enhance the division with her extensive expertise in “corporate immigration, global mobility, and compliance”.
Thomson has taken over the role from Maria Jockel, who served as the managing director and board member at BDO for eight years.
BDO has conveyed that Thomson has been “a driving force” to BDO migration services for several years, collaborating closely with “businesses across diverse industries to deliver innovative and effective solutions for seamless global mobility”.
Speaking about her appointment, Thomson expressed her enthusiasm for leading the division during a period of growth and innovation.
“It is an incredible honour to lead BDO migration services at this exciting time.
“I am committed to building on our strong foundation, driving innovation, and delivering tailored strategies that address the evolving needs of our clients,” Thomson said.
The global audit and accounting organisation has characterised Thomson’s appointment as the “beginning of a dynamic new chapter for BDO migration services”.
Under Thomson’s leadership, she will focus on “leveraging cutting-edge technology, fostering stronger client partnerships, and enhancing the practice’s ability to deliver exceptional results” under her leadership.
With a proactive compliance approach, Thomson is committed to creating innovative solutions that help clients navigate the increasingly intricate landscape of global mobility with confidence.
“As global mobility challenges grow more complex, our role as trusted advisors has never been more important.
“I look forward to leading a practice that not only helps clients overcome these challenges but also transforms them into opportunities for growth and success,” Thomson said.
