Dennis Mak (pictured) has joined Addisons, where he will practice in corporate, merger and acquisition, and private equity law, the firm noted in a statement.

He brings, the firm detailed, “an impressive background in M&A and private equity” and has a “wealth of experience” acting for large corporates and both offshore and onshore private equity firms.

The news follows Addisons’ appointment of former Sportsbet head of legal Lachlan Gepp as a special counsel in December, its hiring of lawyer Richard Francis from Gilbert + Tobin as a special counsel in November, partner David Stammers from Clayton Utz in October, and the promotion of Geri du Plessis to partner in July.

Firm partner David Stammers said: “We are thrilled Dennis has joined Addisons.

“Dennis is highly rated in the market, and his deep experience will enhance and add depth to our already strong corporate team.”

Prior to joining Addisons, Mak worked at PwC for nearly two years as a senior legal counsel and at Clayton Utz as a senior associate.
