The Minter Ellison Legal Group has appointed two new partners, one in Australia and one in NZ. Rhona Millar joins Minter Ellison’s newest office in Darwin. She was previously at Cridlands in Darwin and has also practised in Scotland, England and NSW. Millar has extensive experience in the areas of professional indemnity, health, government and insurance litigation both in the UK and Australia. David Gilbert has been appointed to the Minter Ellison Rudd Watts partnership in NZ, bringing the number of partners there to 36. His practice focus is property development, with an emphasis on property acquisitions, developments and leasing. Gilbert also has extensive experience in infrastructure/PPP project work both in the UK and NZ.
Steven Goodman, formerly corporate counsel to AGL, has joined Sydney corporate and communications law firm Truman Hoyle. The firm said Goodman’s experience in providing corporate and regulatory advice to the energy and resources sectors would compliment Truman Hoyle’s telecommunications and technology legal and regulatory practice. Goodman’s clients include a high profile ASX listed biotechnology company.
Lovells has appointed Deanna Wong to its international intellectual property practice in Asia. Based in Hong Kong, the firm has taken on Wong as a part of the expansion of its Asia patent and trade mark registration practice. Wong has degrees in law and science. Lovells said her double major in biochemistry, genetics and molecular biology would improve their advice to clients in pharmaceuticals and biochemistry.
