Wallmans Lawyers has appointed Andrew Fisher as an associate in its commercial section. He joins the firm from the real estate group at Minter Ellison. Fisher has five years of experience in commercial law, and will specialise in all aspects of commercial property, including leasing, sales and purchases, and planning and development. Brian Paris has been appointed by the firm as a solicitor, also in the commercial section. He will work in areas such as general commercial, property transactions, leasing, sales and purchases. Paris was previously at Cosoff Cudmore Knox.
Norman Waterhouse has appointed James Harb as the lead partner of the firm”s new international trade and transportation practice, and Gus Dib to the position of special counsel. Harb joins Norman Waterhouse from Hunt & Hunt where he practised maritime law and specialised in logistics litigation. Dib was previously at The Bruce & Stewart Commercial Practice, where as a senior associate he managed the firm’s corporate and commercial business practice.
Alana Sparrow has recently joined DMAW Lawyers. She brings her commercial experience to the firm’s transactional and franchising team.
Commercial law firm Thomson Playford has appointed Chris Sargent as a partner within its insurance and workers’ compensation practice group. Sargent joins the firm with 27 years experience in the legal profession and has held several statutory positions in the SA Government and the District Court of SA. Thomson Playford has also appointed two new legal consultants. Andrew Dunncliff is a senior property lawyer and Jack Moschakis is an energy law practitioner.
