Freehills has promoted Sydney senior associates Lachlan Roots and Tony Sparks to partners of the firm. Roots is a member of the firm’s banking and finance group, and has expertise in the area of securitisation, acting for issuers, underwriters, arrangers, credit enhancers, trustees and other parties on all aspects of securitisation programmes and transactions. Sparks is a member of the firm’s corporate group. He is an equity capital markets lawyer, advising both issuers and underwriters on a wide range of initial and secondary offers and has acted recently on a number of significant hybrid offerings.

 
 

Colin Biggers & Paisley has promoted Gavin Creighton to partner in the firm’s insurance division. He has 10 years’ experience in public liability, professional indemnity and general litigation. The firm has also promoted Nancy Har to senior associate in the insurance division. She specialises in directors’ and officers’ cover, professional indemnity and liability.

Steve Aitchison has joined Holding Redlich as a partner in the property and projects practice after five years’ with Blake Dawson Waldron. With 20 years experience in property and construction, Aitchison has specialised for the past four on public and private partnerships involving large-scale infrastructure development in Melbourne.
