Legal academic takes on new role
A legal profession with 20 years’ experience in competition and consumer law has departed her academic role for a new gig.
Thomson Reuters has announced Dr Leela Cejnar has been appointed as a senior writer to the Practical Law Australia team of lawyer writers, bringing with her 20 years' experience.

Throughout her career, Dr Cejnar has worked in both private practice and with Australian public service. Some of her noteworthy work includes working with the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission and Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade, a statement from Thomson Reuters confirmed.
Dr Cejnar joins Practical Law also after spending 10 years in academia, where her primary area of legal research was competition law. She holds a PhD in competition law and is admitted as a solicitor of the Supreme Courts of NSW and Victoria, the Federal Court of Australia and the High Court of Australia.
“I am particularly excited about joining Practical Law as I see it as a unique opportunity to combine my practical and academic interests in my chosen field of competition and consumer law," Dr Cejnar said on her new role.
