Gilbert + Tobin has acted for Stella Travel Services (Stella) and funds advised by CVC Asia Pacific on all aspects of the successful merger of Stella and Jetset Travelworld, advised by Minter Ellison and Freehills.

 
 

The deal is valued at approximately $400 million and was completed on 30 September.

Corporate Advisory partners Bryan Pointon and Gary Lawler, and senior lawyer Andrew Crook, led the corporate aspects of the transaction, assisted by James Law and a team of partners and lawyers across the firm's practice areas.

Competition partner Gina Cass Gottlieb led the Gilbert + Tobin team in securing ACCC clearance for the merger of equals to proceed, and IT partner Peter Jones led the team in negotiating various services and transitional agreements with QANTAS.

The Gilbert + Tobin team advised on all aspects of the transaction including competition and regulation, corporate, finance, employment, tax, intellectual property and information technology. Corporate Advisory partner Andrew Bullock also advised in relation to management equity along with senior lawyer Hiroshi Narushima.
