Global law firm Clifford Chance has expanded its partnership ranks with the promotion of 28 lawyers to partner, two of whom are based in Australia.
Clifford Chance has strengthened its global partnership with the appointment of 28 new partners, including two based in its Sydney office, with the promotions taking effect on 1 May 2026.
In a statement, the global law firm shared that these promotions reinforce its continued commitment to strengthening its global capabilities across key markets, sectors, and client services.
The two Australia-based promotions were John Karantonis in the private equity practice and Rebecca Elgar in the real estate practice.
Karantonis has been with the global law firm for nearly three years and Elgar for two, both serving as counsel before being elevated to the partnership ranks.
The firm’s latest partner promotion round spans 12 practice areas across 12 global offices on four continents, including London, New York, Paris, Hong Kong, and Tokyo.
