Legal services and mortgage processing provider Lextech has appointed both a new CEO and a chief growth officer in a move to drive “innovation and efficiency”.
Lextech and Purcell Partners have made key leadership appointments, including Peter Maloney as group CEO and Rafe Berding as new chief growth officer (CGO).
Maloney brings more than 20 years of experience across Australia’s financial, legal and property sectors to his new role and was formerly the CEO and managing director of property and legal technology firm Dye & Durham before spending almost two years as the CEO at cyber security solutions provider AUCyber.
Purcell Partners founder and director Simon Purcell said Maloney’s appointment brings a wealth of expertise across mortgage settlement services and technology within the legal and financial sectors. Purcell Partners is a legal firm servicing both the banking and finance industry, with Purcell launching on-demand cloud-based platform Lextech in 2004.
“Peter has been a transformative force in scaling some of Australia’s most influential technology brands at the crossroads of finance, property, and law and will be instrumental in advancing Lextech’s capabilities and customer success,” he said.
“Peter’s expertise in harnessing technology to drive efficiency, accuracy, and security within the mortgage and legal ecosystems will further strengthen our commitment to delivering seamless transactions and rigorous due diligence. His strategic vision will shape Lextech’s future, driving innovation and efficiency to deliver unmatched value for our customer, Australia’s lenders and indeed property owners.”
Prior to joining Lextech, Berding was the chief corporate affairs officer at AUCyber, as well as the chief customer officer at Dye & Durham prior to that.
Berding has worked closely with Australia’s banking, legal, conveyancing, and government sectors and brings a deep understanding of mortgage services, property settlements, regulatory technology, compliance and risk management standards.
Finally, Jason Popkowski has also been appointed head of sales, focusing on customer success and innovation. His leadership experience includes general manager of financial services at Dye & Durham, client service manager at the NSW Land Registry Service, and head of sales at eBay.
