Independent Australian law firm McCullough Robertson Lawyers has appointed two new partners based in Brisbane and Sydney.

Hayley Mitchell joins the estates team in Brisbane, and Anthony Rotili joins the finance team based in Sydney.

Mitchell has 15 years of legal experience and joins McCullough Robertson from Cooper Grace Ward, where she spent nine more than nine years, five of those as a partner. She has deep expertise in estate advisory work, superannuation death benefit disputes, estate planning and estate administration. She is also a dual accredited specialist in succession law (Queensland) and self-managed superannuation funds.

Rotili is a McCullough Robertson alumni, having worked at the firm for four years as a senior associate in 2009. He returns after spending 11 years in various legal roles at National Australia Bank, including senior leadership roles, where he provided front-end transactional support to NAB’s business and private bank and corporate and institutional bank.

Joint managing partner Guy Humble said the appointments reflect a commitment to both women in leadership and the ongoing expansion of the Sydney office.

“These appointments are extremely exciting for our firm and our clients, adding depth to our estates practice and McR Private offering, and building on our finance capability nationally and the growth of our Sydney office,” he said.

“Since 1926 our firm has been built on establishing deep and long-term relationships across our diversified client base, from private clients through to corporates, government and financial institutions. This approach is integral to the future of McCullough Robertson as we adapt to and support our clients in a world of constant change.”

McCullough Robertson chair of partners Kristan Conlon added: “I am delighted to welcome Hayley to the partnership and to see Anthony return to the firm as a partner. I know our people will benefit from Hayley and Anthony’s focus on mentorship and development, and our clients will benefit from their experience and approachable manner.”
