Multinational law firm Pinsent Masons has revealed a wave of new partner promotions, including three in the Asia-Pacific region.
Pinsent Masons has elevated 24 lawyers to its global partnership, with the new appointments based across six countries in the UK, Europe, and the Asia-Pacific region.
As part of the global promotions, three lawyers have been promoted to partner in the global firm’s Asia-Pacific region: Eliza Danby, Cecilia Hu, and Leanne Olden (all pictured).
This announcement follows Pinsent Masons’ recent appointment of two special counsels from global rivals DLA Piper and Norton Rose Fulbright at the end of January.
Eliza Danby, based in the firm’s Melbourne office, is a part of the construction advisory and disputes team, where she guides clients in the infrastructure sector through complex and contentious issues arising from major projects.
Before her promotion to partner, Danby had been with Pinsent Masons for over seven years, previously serving as a senior associate and special counsel.
Based in the same office, Leanne Olden is a member of the firm’s Australian finance and projects team, where she is an energy and infrastructure lawyer who specialises in transactional matters and project delivery.
Having been with Pinsent Masons for four years, Olden has held the roles of senior associate and special counsel.
Cecilia Hu works in the construction advisory and disputes team and is based in the firm’s Shanghai office. Pinsent Masons shared that she has worked “on some of the most high-profile projects around the world” in the energy, renewable energy, water, and major infrastructure projects industry.
These three partner elevations will be in effect on 1 May.
Speaking on these appointments, James Morgan-Payler, partner and head of the firm’s Asia-Pacific region, said: “These well-deserved appointments reflect the firm’s global commitment to developing and recognising the deep talent pool we have at the senior level and providing real career pathways for all of our people.”
“Eliza, Cecilia, and Leanne’s appointments also showcase our depth of talent servicing the energy and infrastructure sectors, which continue to be areas of focus for us in APAC.”
Alongside these partner promotions, Melanie Hunter and Kevin Zhou, who previously held the position of senior lawyer, have been promoted to the role of legal director.
