Legal technology provider LexisNexis has launched local hosting in Australia for its Lexis+ AI product and appointed a new managing director for the Asia-Pacific region.
Legal workflow solution Lexis+ AI will now be locally hosted in Australia, further enabling legal organisations and practitioners to utilise the AI capabilities of the platform while ensuring sensitive data remains in Australia.
Since its launch in 2024, Lexis+ AI has been adopted by some of the largest law firms in Australia, such as Clayton Utz, McCabes, Holding Redlich, and hundreds of smaller firms. Now, the introduction of local hosting means that users will be able to experience the full potential of Lexis+ AI while their information remains stored and processed securely within Australia, using both Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Microsoft Azure.
This move also coincides with the appointment of Katy Fixter as the new managing director for LexisNexis Asia-Pacific. Fixter previously served as vice president and general manager of global Nexis Solutions. She will succeed Greg Dickason, who has relocated to the United States as chief technology officer, innovation, infrastructure and operations of LexisNexis.
“LexisNexis is at the forefront of transforming the legal profession with groundbreaking law tech solutions, and I am thrilled to be part of a business that is empowering lawyers to work smarter, faster, and more efficiently.
“Our recent developments highlight our ability to not only deliver world-leading solutions to the local market, but showcases our commitment to listen, gain feedback, and constantly evolve our offerings to tailor local market requirements,” Fixter said.
“The launch of local hosting for Lexis+ AI in Australia marks a critical milestone in our commitment to supporting our customers with secure, innovative, and compliant solutions. Australia-based hosting was a key priority for a large segment of our customer base, so I’m pleased we have been able to deliver this significant milestone within the first year of operation for Lexis+ AI.”
