Gilchrist Connell adds 2 special counsel, 4 senior associates
National insurance firm Gilchrist Connell has moved to shore up its senior ranks, appointing two special counsel in Perth and four senior associates across the country.
Gilchrist Connell, which has five offices nationally, has hired Erica Dobson and Ellie McGrory as special counsel in Perth.
Dobson joins the firm’s health law practice, offering clients a wealth of medical negligence and health law experience, as well as advising on a variety of other personal injury claims and life insurance litigation, for both plaintiffs and defendants.
McGrory works in personal injuries litigation, and her practice focuses on workers’ compensation and liability claims, representing both plaintiffs and defendants.
Speaking about the hires, Gilchrist Connell managing partner Richard Wood said: “Erica and Ellie’s appointments as special counsel are an important step towards consolidating our capacity nationally in their areas.
“We are confident that their expertise and dedication will greatly benefit our clients and contribute to our continued success.”
Additionally, the firm has also recently welcomed four new senior associates: Adelaide-based recoveries lawyer Ellen Duckworth, Melbourne-based financial lines lawyer Rachel Patterson and Sydney-based general liability practitioners Olivia Boyages and Katryn Strong.
The six appointments follow the firm’s hiring of a health law principal earlier this month, its appointment of a new chief executive in late November and the addition of four new special counsel, three new senior associates, and six associates in September.
They also follow the appearance of the firm’s managing partner, Richard Wood, on The Lawyers Weekly Show in December, discussing firm identity, having good people, and leadership matters.
