Piper Alderman has added seven partners to its ranks, all of whom have come across from global firm Squire Patton Boggs.

The new partners – Campbell Davidson, Cris Cureton, Brent Henderson, Richard Horton, Hai-Dang Nguyen, David Starkoff, and Olena Brodovska – will all be based in the firm’s Sydney office, Piper Alderman noted in a statement.

The appointments see the national partnership at Piper Alderman grow to more than 90.

Further, the partners (six of whom are pictured) have brought the following team members with them: projects, infrastructure, and construction special counsel Vicky Kossaris; financial services and fintech senior associate Rachel Luo; corporate associate Emma Connolly; projects, infrastructure, and construction associate Feras Hamdan; projects, infrastructure, and construction graduate Eric Beale; associate Lachlan Hallab; lawyer Olivia Kelleher; and legal administrative assistants Casey Federova and Laura Martinez.

In total, Piper Alderman has made 16 new appointments.

The news follows the firm’s addition of a tax partner and associate from BigLaw firm Holding Redlich in September, appointment of a dispute resolution partner in July, and promotion of 24 professionals back in June.

Speaking about the appointments, managing partner Tony Britten-Jones said: “We are delighted to welcome the partners and their teams to Piper Alderman.

“This marks a significant step in our strategy to expand our distinctive service offerings and expertise, while further strengthening our already highly regarded practice areas in Sydney and nationally.”

Davidson, a corporate partner who joined in November, said: “I’m excited to be joining the corporate group at Piper Alderman. I very much look forward to collaborating with my new colleagues at a firm which is renowned for delivering exceptional client service.”

Cureton joined in early February and will sit in the firm’s projects, infrastructure, and construction group. He said: “I am delighted to be joining my many friends at Piper Alderman. With its national network and bench strength in corporate, construction and disputes, we can better support our clients to achieve their goals.”

Henderson will also sit in the projects, infrastructure, and construction group, and he joined in November. He said: “I’m very pleased to join Piper Alderman at such an exciting time of consolidation and growth in the Australian market. The firm offers an impressive platform and service offering for my clients, together with a dynamic culture of ambition, collaboration, and recognition of its people.”

Horton joined the BigLaw firm last week and will sit in the corporate team. He said: “I’m really happy to be joining the corporate group at Piper Alderman, a large, full-service firm with a fantastic culture, and look forward to driving our venture capital, private equity and tech M&A practice further with the firm.”

Nguyen also joined in November and will sit in the firm’s financial services and fintech practice. He said: “Piper Alderman is a leading law firm with a rich culture embracing respect, collegiality, collaboration and striving for excellence. I am excited to have the opportunity to play a part in writing the next chapter of the firm’s successful and proud history.”

Starkoff is the third partner to arrive at Piper Alderman’s projects, infrastructure, and construction team. He also joined last week and said: “I’m excited to join Piper Alderman, and I’m looking forward to working with my colleagues across the country and continuing to provide superior service to clients.”

Brodovska, who was a senior associate at Squire Patton Boggs and has joined as a partner, will serve in the firm’s corporate team. She said: “Joining the corporate group at Piper Alderman is an exciting opportunity. I look forward to contributing to the firm’s and the group’s growth and success while continuing to uphold the excellence of services that Piper Alderman is known for.”
