Gadens appoints 2 partners for IP, tech team
National law firm Gadens has hired two partners for its intellectual property and technology practice, who will be based in Canberra and Sydney, respectively.
Mitchell Wright and Adrian Chotar have joined the partnership at Gadens, in its intellectual property and technology group. Wright arrived at the firm from Aldermane in December, while Chotar joined in February from PwC.
Stephanie Brown, a senior associate, has also joined Gadens from PwC.
The news follows the firm’s expansion into Canberra, with a team of 37 (including seven partners) from boutique firm Trinity Law, in July of last year.
Speaking about his new role, Wright said: “I am thrilled to be joining the Gadens team as it continues to invest in its offerings to the government sector and the business community in Canberra.
“With the emergence of sovereignty and cyber security as key risks that need to be managed by Australian organisations, I am excited to leverage the benefits that a leading independent Australian law firm like Gadens can provide to its clients.”
Chotar said: “I am incredibly excited to be joining Gadens and at the prospect of helping its clients to maximise the opportunities of digital transformation and to effectively manage increased cyber and privacy risks.
“Gadens has an impressive team, strong culture and is highly focused on delivering excellent legal services and achieving the best outcomes for its clients. I look forward to working with the team to continue to grow its technology practice and to contribute towards the firm’s growth as a leading Australian law firm.”
Gadens chief executive and managing partner Mark Pistilli said: “Both Mitchell and Adrian bring unique skills and insights that contribute to our firm’s growing expertise and client offering in the technology sector. It is fantastic to have them join our growing partnership, and especially bolstering our capabilities in the ACT and NSW markets – two of our firm’s focus jurisdictions for sustainable business growth.
“We are excited about the future prospects that these new appointments bring and look forward to the valuable contributions of Mitchell and Adrian to our firm.”
