International law firm Hamilton Locke has moved to strengthen its private client services offering in Perth, nabbing a partner from Jackson McDonald.
Jamie Blair (pictured) has joined Hamilton Locke’s partnership, having come across from Perth-based firm Jackson McDonald, where he served as a partner for 18 months. Prior to this, he worked at IRDI Legal and Slater & Gordon.
He is, the BigLaw firm said in a statement, an experienced estate planning lawyer who has gained a reputation as a trusted adviser to families and businesses on succession and wealth distribution strategies to prepare and protect their estates for the future.
The news follows the firm’s recent addition of five to its partnership ranks nationwide, as reported earlier this month. It also follows the firm’s promotion of 11 professionals to more senior roles in late January across both Hamilton Locke and its sister company, Source, the firm’s promotion of 18 lawyers, including two to the partnership, in July of last year, as well as its addition of three partners to its ranks in August.
Speaking about the hire, Hamilton Locke managing partner and HPX Group chief executive Nick Humphrey said: “We’re experiencing growing demand for the specialist services that Hamilton Locke Private provides, and Jamie’s practice and his personal approach to client service is a perfect fit for us.
“We’re pleased to welcome him to the partnership and to our growing Perth office.”
