Chris Bresler (pictured) is the new head of CBP’s property insurance team, bringing his experience in complex coverage and defence of first-party property claims and complex recoveries, including in the construction and infrastructure space, to the role.

He has, the firm said in a statement, worked across a range of claims and recoveries for domestic and London market insurers involving business interruption, industrial special risk, arson and fire damage, flooding and water damage, and fraud, and has advised organisations across industries, including building and construction, banking, energy, transport and logistics, and medical and pharmaceutical.

The news follows the firm’s promotion of four, including one to partner, in mid-December, its naming of a new deputy managing partner in August, as well as its promotion of 11 professionals, including three to partner, in mid-June.

Speaking about the hire, CBP joint insurance practice lead Gavin Creighton said: “While property insurance has always been part of our offering, Chris will be a dedicated partner in this line of business and spearhead the expansion of our offering. This move reinforces our commitment to listening to our clients to ensure that we continue to meet their needs.

“We are thrilled to welcome Chris to our team. He will work closely with the broader property team of Vanessa Gulesserian, Peter Moran, Phil Atkin and industry veteran Greg Skehan to enhance our standing with insurers in Australia and the London market.”

Bresler said: “I am excited to be joining a team of insurance experts who are committed to delivering outcome-focused solutions.

“With Colin Biggers & Paisley’s strong reputation and client-centric approach, I look forward to contributing to the practice’s continued growth and success in the industry.”
