KWM adds 3 partners across Asia-Pacific region
Global law firm King & Wood Mallesons has appointed three partners, including two in Australia, in a move to bolster its strength in private capital markets and meet growing client needs.
King & Wood Mallesons (KWM) has appointed three experienced practitioners to its partnerships in Australia and Singapore, two of which join from Corrs Chambers Westgarth in Australia and one who joins from Hogan Lovells.
The three new partners are Lizzie Knight and Ben Davidson in Australia and Andy Ferris in Singapore.
Based in Canberra, Knight joins from Corrs Chambers Westgarth and will add “significant depth” to the firm’s FIRB practice. She spent 13 years at Corrs, including more than 11 years as a partner and has more than 25 years of legal experience, particularly in handling large-scale foreign investments in Australia.
Also joining from Corrs and based in Melbourne, Davidson has been a disputes partner for the last 20 years and “adds valuable capability in an area of law projected to see new demand as energy transition projects develop and mature”, according to the firm. He will commence at KWM shortly.
Ferris joins from Hogan Lovells in Singapore, where he was a partner for 11 years. He brings a client list of top-tier investment banks, corporate debt issuers, development finance issuers and corporate trustees to the firm.
This news comes after the firm appointed 19, including six partners, to its employment relations and safety practice in December last year, after the decision by the firm’s global chief executive, Sue Kench, to step down from her role this month, as reported in October.
The appointments are an exciting boost to the firm’s corporate and client offerings, according to chief executive partner Renae Lattey.
“These appointments strengthen our expertise where our clients need it now and into the future,” she said.
“Together, they reflect the diversity and fortitude of our regional business and our ongoing attention to market dynamics and growth opportunities. I’m really excited to welcome them to the KWM partnership.”
