K&L Gates expands finance practice with new partner
Global law firm K&L Gates has continued to expand its finance practice in Sydney with the addition of a new partner, who joins from BigLaw rival Norton Rose Fulbright.
After working as a partner at Norton Rose Fulbright for more than seven years and leading the firm’s Australian university team, Rob White has commenced at K&L Gates as a partner within its finance practice in Sydney.
White brings more than two decades of experience to the firm, with expertise across finance and concessions on Australian public-private partnerships (PPPs) and domestic and international project finance transactions, as well as project finance and corporate finance.
This news follows the firm’s hiring of an IP partner from Corrs Chambers Westgarth in January, the addition of a real estate partner from HWL Ebsworth in late August last year and three lateral partners in July.
In Australia, White is the 11th new partner to join K&L Gates since January last year – and his experience in finance and project management, gained from advising on a diverse range of infrastructure and banking transactions, allows him to offer clients innovative, strategic advice on complex contractual arrangements, according to Australia regional managing partner Jason Opperman.
“Rob’s extensive knowledge of infrastructure project structures and risk profiles sets him apart in the industry,” he said.
“As the scope of major projects continues to evolve, with new areas of focus targeted for infrastructure investment, Rob’s ability to adapt and deliver innovative, tailored financing solutions will drive exceptional results for our clients and further strengthen our growing energy, infrastructure, and resources practice. We are thrilled to have him join our team.”
