Vicki Aron (pictured) has joined Clayton Utz as a partner in its real estate practice group. She comes from Ashurst, where she spent seven years, including more than four years as a partner.

With over two decades of experience, Aron brings a wealth of expertise, specialising in major projects, development transactions, acquisitions and disposals, and corporate real estate matters.

She is rejoining Clayton Utz, where she previously served as a senior associate 15 years ago.

The national law firm highlighted that Aron’s extensive portfolio encompasses “advising on the tenure and real estate aspects of solar, wind, hydro, battery energy storage systems and energy from waste projects in Australia”.

Aron completed a bachelor of arts and bachelor of laws degree at the University of NSW.

Before rejoining Clayton Utz, she spent three years as a lawyer in the property finance sector at King & Wood Mallesons, nearly seven years as a senior lawyer at Gilbert + Tobin, and served as special counsel at K&L Gates for less than a year.

Andrew Steele, Clayton Utz’s national practice group leader for real estate, highlighted that Aron’s appointment comes during a time of “intense demand” within the real estate legal services sector, positioning the firm to enhance its capabilities.

“Vicki’s appointment will ensure we maintain our market-leading bench strength and capability to meet the growing demand for advice across a range of real estate matters, especially for our private sector clients,” Steele said.

“Vicki is incredibly client-centric and will be a huge asset to the firm and our clients.”

This news follows the firm’s promotion of eight of its lawyers to its partnership at the beginning of December, adding a restructuring and insolvency partner from global rival Jones Day in late October, taking four Canberra-based partners from national rival MinterEllison in August, and hiring of a commercial dispute resolution partner from Holding Redlich in the same month.
