National law firm HWL Ebsworth is finishing the year with dozens of promotions, elevating 43 lawyers to more senior roles.
Last week, BigLaw firm HWL Ebsworth – which has the nation’s largest legal partnership – promoted 43 lawyers to more senior roles, including 12 to special counsel, 13 to senior associate, and 18 to associate.
The news follows the firm’s hiring of Ashurst’s venture capital head in mid-November and its naming of six new partners and promotion of 73 other lawyers to more senior roles in June.
It also follows the firm’s unveiling of a new leadership model in May, following the tragic passing of managing partner Juan Martinez.
Speaking about the promotions, HWL chief executive Kris Hopkins said: “Each of our team members [has] demonstrated their alignment and commitment to the firm, and I look forward to seeing their ongoing growth and contribution in the coming years.
“HWL Ebsworth is entering an exciting new phase, and our success wouldn’t be possible without the support, dedication, and effort from everyone across the firm.”
HWL currently comprises 1,649 staff, including 275 partners, 996 other legal staff, and 378 support staff.
It has offices in Adelaide, Brisbane, Canberra, Darwin, Melbourne, Hobart, Norwest (North West Sydney), Perth, and Sydney.
