Mills Oakley has added Cite Legal founder Monique Carroll as a partner, growing its partnership across the country to 170.

Based in Melbourne, Carroll joins the firm’s commercial disputes and insolvency team and comes to Mills Oakley from Cite Legal, which she founded and managed for five years. Prior to this, she worked at King & Wood Mallesons for seven years, including 18 months in the Beijing office as an adviser and counsel.

She has extensive experience in high-value commercial litigation, as well as expertise in international arbitration, cross-border disputes, governance and international trade law.

The news follows the national firm’s appointment of three partners in October, as well as two partners from Hamilton Locke and KPMG, as reported in July.

Mills Oakley has offices in Adelaide, Brisbane, Canberra, Darwin, Melbourne, Perth, and Sydney and now has a partnership of 170.

CEO John Nerurker said this appointment will continue the firm’s strategic growth.

“We are very pleased to welcome Monique to the partnership,” he said.

“She is an outstanding lawyer, and her wide-ranging skills will further enhance our offering to Australian and international clients.”
