Dentons names first Australia female chair
A new Australia chair for global law firm Dentons has been elected and is the first female to hold the position.
After adding a female global CEO earlier this year, Dentons has named partner and member of the Australian and global board of Dentons Amber Warren as the new chair in Australia.
Warren has been elected for a two-year term and is the first female chair for the global law firm. She has been with the firm for more than 20 years and has been a partner since 2010, holding various leadership positions.
“Dentons has been on an incredible growth trajectory over the past five years, almost doubling our revenue by growing our existing practices and establishing new ones.
“At the same time, we have built an incredible reputation for a commitment to client service and innovation while also building a strong and inclusive culture that has us recognised across the industry as an employer of choice. This, along with Dentons’ unrivalled global footprint continues to attract market-leading lateral partners and staff,” Warren said.
“I thank the partners for placing their trust and confidence in me to lead Dentons over the next two years through a period of growth and change. I am looking forward to achieving continued successes for our clients and our people.”
This news follows the addition of a trio from Holding Redlich in October, as well as the addition of two new partners and promotion of another 17 professionals in July, plus the nabbing of two partners and a team of nine from global practice Kennedys in March of this year.
Warren’s term as Australia chair is effective from 1 January 2025, and global CEO Kate Barton congratulated her on the new appointment.
“Amber has consistently and meaningfully contributed to the growth of our people and to the service we extend to our clients,” she said.
“In my short time with Dentons, I have had the pleasure of collaborating with Amber, and I look forward to continuing to work with her as we enhance the experience of our clients in Australia, the broader Australian community and across the 80-plus countries where we have a presence.”
