Consilio expands in Australia
Legal technology solutions and enterprise legal services business Consilio has opened two new data centres in Sydney and Melbourne as part of an expansion of its services in Australia.
Consilio, which recently acquired global flexible resourcing business Lawyers on Demand (LOD) and its tech subsidiary, SYKE, has expanded its offering in Australia with the opening of two new data centres.
This move marks the completion of the rollout of Consilio’s e-discovery services to the Australian market – and the provider now offers its full suite of legal consulting offerings to corporate and law firm clients across the country. This includes electronic discovery data processing and hosting, document review and legal advisory and transformation services to complement its existing flexible legal talent offering in Australia.
Following Consilio’s acquisition of LOD in September 2023, this extension will also simplify many of the privacy challenges involved with handling matters with an Australian nexus for Consilio’s international client base, as well as provide Australian clients access to Consilio’s world-class support for local and cross-border litigation and investigation projects, according to the provider.
The two new Australian data centres have been built to meet Consilio’s requirements for data security and resilience and, according to CEO Andy Macdonald, meet the highest global information security standards.
“When LOD joined the Consilio family, we were excited to expand the full range of Consilio services, including our e-discovery services, to their multinational and Australia-based clients and prospects,” he said.
“Legal teams across the globe are constantly looking for the most secure, scalable solutions – and we will continue to adapt and grow to meet their evolving needs.”
In addition, Consilio has appointed a locally based team to engage with clients and contribute to strategic projects aimed at accelerating growth in Australia. This will be led by Nathan Hughes, who is committed to building “strong, personalised client relationships” in Australia.
“I am thrilled to lead Consilio’s e-discovery business in Australia, marking an exciting chapter as we expand our presence in this dynamic region. With state-of-the-art data centres that offer secure private cloud solutions, we are well-positioned to offer our clients efficient, reliable and locally managed e-discovery services,” he said.
“Our experienced team is dedicated to building strong client partnerships and offering innovative solutions that address the unique challenges within the Australian market. I look forward to driving growth and enhancing our global reputation through service excellence and market-leading technology.”
