In late October, Maurice Blackburn opened its newest office in Queensland, located within North Lakes, Moreton Bay.

The opening of this office marks the establishment of the national law firm’s second location within the Moreton Bay region, complementing its existing office in Strathpine.

Maurice Blackburn has indicated that its new office in North Lakes will offer a comprehensive array of personal injury services, including, but not limited to, “work injury compensation, public liability and motor vehicle compulsory third-party claims”.

The North Lakes office is managed by Jana Davey, a senior associate, and Jillian Barrett, a supervising principal lawyer and a finalist for the 2024 Lawyers Weekly Women in Law Mentor of the Year award.

Two additional lawyers will accompany Davey at the North Lakes office. The office will also host “visiting specialists” who come from other Maurice Blackburn offices, encompassing multiple practice areas such as medical negligence, dust disease, and superannuation.

Michelle James, the director of Maurice Blackburn and the head of the firm’s Queensland and Northern Territory road injury, work injury and public liability practices, expressed her enthusiasm regarding the opening of this new law to deliver legal services to the Moreton Bay community effectively and efficiently.

“It’s so wonderful to have a new home for Maurice Blackburn in the heart of North Lakes to provide legal services to the broader Moreton Bay community,” James said.

“This new office is in a thriving commercial hub just moments from the Bruce Highway, which offers great convenience and accessibility for our clients and employees.”

She further said: “Maurice Blackburn is committed to extending access to justice. By expanding our footprint in Queensland, we help more Queenslanders access the legal help they need close to their own community.”
