Cassandra Wee and Amit Jois have both joined HSF as partners in its projects, energy, and infrastructure group.

Both will be based in the firm’s Sydney office.

Wee is set to come across from Ashurst, where she has spent over 12 years (including three and a half years as a partner), and brings expertise including project structuring, development, offtake, transactions, and regulation. She has worked in Asia and across Australia.

Jois has joined from JWS, where he was a partner for nearly six years. His practice focuses on M&A for private capital and corporate clients in the energy and infrastructure sectors.

The news follows the firm’s appointment of new dispute resolution heads in late August, its appointment of 62 new senior associates back in June, its naming of 10 new executive counsel in late April, its appointment of nine new partners in the same month, its appointment of an Australian as joint managing partner of its global corporate practice in February, and its promotion of four within its alternative legal services practice in January.

Speaking about the appointments, HSF managing partner of projects, energy, and infrastructure Nick Baker said: “We continue to invest in the people and skills necessary to support clients on their energy transition work. The hires of Cassandra and Amit give us greater capability and depth to service complex matters for sponsors, investors, and financiers.

“We now have over 100 partners globally who operate in the energy sector, and our energy transition work is a solid contributor to firm growth in our region, up 20 per cent from the previous year. Our investment in our energy capability is clearly working, and it is a sign of confidence that top talent like Cassandra and Amit are excited about joining our team.

“We look forward to welcoming Cassandra and Amit to our firm.”
