Gilchrist Connell continues to grow
National law firm Gilchrist Connell has added four new special counsel, three new senior associates, and six associates to its ranks.
Gilchrist Connell has appointed four new special counsel: Shonagh Rasmussen, Mary Kinna, Erica Dobson, and Kristina Nehme.
Rasmussen has joined from HWL Ebsworth, and she works on financial lines insurance, regulatory, and commercial litigation matters. Kinna most recently served at Colin Biggers & Paisley and practises in public liability and property damage claims. Dobson has come across from Dominion Legal and joins Gilchrist Connell’s national health team. And Nehme last worked at Bryan Cave Leighton Paisner, and she brings corporate and commercial advisory, regulatory and restructuring expertise.
Elsewhere, the firm has welcomed three new senior associates: Ashleigh Perriman, Bryce Stevens, and Josiah Lee.
Finally, it has also hired seven new associates: Shayma Sorefan, Katie Kyung, Hamish England, James Taylor, Adam Elbanna, and Lily Connell (who has rejoined the firm).
The recent appointments follow the firm’s promotion round in early July, its naming of two new principals in late June, its hiring of four new special counsel in early June, and its addition of three senior lawyers from BigLaw rival Colin Biggers & Paisley in mid-June.

In addition to the firm’s July promotion round, it has promoted Debra Crossley, who works in the Perth office, to associate following her return from leave.
