In late June, DWF, a global provider of integrated legal and business services, announced that it had agreed to acquire Australian claims management business Proclaim, which it said would strengthen its presence across the country.

The acquisition, the firm said in a statement at the time, would significantly expand its claims management and adjusting and broader insurance capabilities in Australia.

Speaking at the time, DWF group chief executive Sir Nigel Knowles said: “This acquisition will mark a significant step forward in our growth strategy, reinforcing our commitment to expanding our footprint in key global markets.

“Proclaim’s outstanding reputation and expertise align perfectly with our vision, and should everything progress as planned, we look forward to welcoming them in the near future.”

Proclaim founder and managing director Jon Broome said: “We are very proud of the business we have built over 25 years and the market leadership position we have reached in insurance claims management.

“We are excited for the next phase of our development in partnering with a global leader in claims and legal services and what that can offer for existing and prospective clients.”

At the time, the transaction was expected to take four to six weeks to complete, subject to regulatory approvals. Now, the acquisition has been completed.

Proclaim was founded in 1999 and has built up to a team of 60 across Melbourne and Sydney. DWF’s global claims management and adjusting team now comprises 320 professionals across nine jurisdictions.
