Allens managing associate joins Corrs as a partner
National law firm Corrs Chambers Westgarth has added a partner for its investigations and inquiries practice, who joins from BigLaw rival Allens, where she served as a managing associate.
Corrs has appointed Caroline Marshall (pictured) as a partner for its investigation and inquiries practice group. She previously served as a managing associate at BigLaw firm Allens for nearly four years.
Bringing 15 years of experience, Marshall advises on bribery and corruption, anti-money laundering, sanctions, and tax fraud cases and is regularly asked by clients to assist in governance, remediation and compliance matters, Corrs noted in a statement.
Marshall graduated from the London School of Economics and Political Science with a bachelor of laws degree. She then completed her master of law degree at the University of Cambridge.
Additionally, Corrs outlined that Marshall has “worked in London and Hong Kong, where she acted on anti-corruption, fraud and sanctions investigations brought by the US Department of Justice (DOJ), the US Securities and Exchange Commission, the US Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) and the UK Serious Fraud Office”.
She will start her new role on 23 September and be based in the firm’s Sydney office.
Corrs senior partner and chief executive Gavin MacLaren expressed his enthusiasm about Marshall’s appointment, citing the considerable knowledge and experience she will bring to the law firm.
“Caroline’s practice covers the full regulatory life cycle, from regulatory reform to regulatory strategy, compliance, investigations, enforcement and remediation.
“She is an accomplished practitioner who is well regarded for her technical legal ability and strong relationships. We are delighted to welcome Caroline to the Corrs partnership,” MacLaren said.
