In a move to strengthen its corporate and commercial and property practices and enhance its capabilities in mergers and acquisitions, funds, and property transactions, Dhanushka Jayawardena has been appointed as Holding Redlich’s newest partner.

Jayawardena is a taxation lawyer and chartered tax adviser, specialising in front-end structuring and tax advisory across Commonwealth and state direct and indirect taxes.

He has advised institutional clients, private equity funds, and sponsors on domestic and cross-border transactions and most recently worked as a partner at HWL Ebsworth Lawyers.

“To become a part of Holding Redlich, a firm renowned for its excellence and commitment to client success, is an opportunity for me to make valuable contributions to the firm and our clients,” Jayawardena said.

This comes after the firm named two state managing partners for NSW and the ACT, as well as for Victoria, earlier this month, as well as the promotion of two female lawyers to the partnership, alongside 27 others to more senior positions across the country, in early July.

It also follows the addition of a new WHS partner in April this year, as well as the firm’s appointment of a special counsel from lawyerbank as a new partner in mid-December and the hiring of a special counsel from MinterEllison as a partner in mid-November.

Holding Redlich national head of corporate and commercial Darren Pereira said the firm was “excited to welcome Dhanushka to our team”.

“His extensive experience and proven track record in taxation law make him an invaluable addition to the firm,” he said.

“Dhanushka has built a strong reputation in the market, and his specialist expertise will play a crucial role in supporting our clients with their transactional needs.”
